Great post. Speaking as a lifelong soccer player and fan, I never knew that about back-up catchers, although I do have a new appreciation for catchers after a recent round of catch with my neighbor, a profe who used to be a pitcher; my left hand still stings . . . my 45-year old Cooper mitt did not help. Speaking of catchers, who is your favorite movie catcher? Mine is Gordon Clapp as Ray Schalk in Eight Men Out, which not coincidentally is my favorite baseball movie.
Farewell Austin, we'll miss you! Thanks Peter!
GREAT ending!!!
Great story. One of my favorites.

Geez. I was wondering about Austin Barnes.
